Absolute stress!
Only one week til Easter holidays, and yet I think this is possibly the most stressful week ever. I have a history essay to do for homework, which if I don’t start tonight ill never ever get it done for Thursday! I also have an English project involving a “visual response to a poem on the leaving cert course.” usually I wouldn’t mind some quirky English assignment like that, but A) it’s due on Thursday and
B) I have the artistic ability of a rock!
I have french homework to do, which I dont understand, and this week I’m supposed to be helping with an assembly on mental health! We have a tour of UCD tomorrow instead of school so I’ll get no work done.
On the bright side, it’s almost Easter! :) on Easter Saturday I’m going to see my first rugby match in the aviva….. I absolutely cannot wait!!
Swimming is going well too. Cormorant gala on Saturday, and at the end of April I have nationals, which I picked my events for this morning.
Got my monitor badge too. Yay!
So stressful times, but hopefully good times too.
Another rant soon!
Mad
Had to write an essay for English the other day entitled “it’s a mad mad mad mad mad world”. I wish I’d seen all this Kony stuff before I wrote it!
Whats crazy is not just how unjust and inhumane these killings are, but how intense, huge and passionate the reaction was, on a subject that most people really don’t know that much about!
I admit I was one of the ones who jumped on the bandwagon before I watched the video on Facebook. Children are being abused, parents shot, it’s obviously not right. But really what people are excited about is the publicity, not the entire campaign!
The campaign has it’s flaws. There are many deaths that could be caused by “taking down” kony as they propose, but people agree with it, because it seems like the best solution. Truth is, it’s not. Although that doesnt mean I won’t be taking part on April 20th!
I guess what I’m saying is it’s crazy how quick people make their minds up about things. Most people dont even think about anything deeper than just writing “kony 2012” anywhere and everywhere they can!
It’s great that awareness is being raised on such a large scale though, and while I don’t agree with the wording of making a person who commits crimes against humanity “famous”, I will be taking part, and I’d encourage others to do the same.
Really stressed….
So I found this app hiding on my iPod, and decided to make the first post in about 8 months!
5th year is so stressful right now, have so much work to do, and so little time! Trying to do a history project that’s apparently for my leaving cert, and it’s next to impossible to find what to write about!
Sea swims start soon, and I can’t wait! Easter will be good too, going to Edinburgh for an MUN conference in about two or three weeks.
Going to my next rugby match (cause yeah I’m just such a good rugby supporter :L) just before Easter :) should be good!
Not sure if anyone reads these anymore, but meh, felt it time to update about all my crap!
Weekend Madness!
So today begins a busy weekend.
I’m going later to find out what my handicap will be for a big swim I’m doing on sunday in dun laoire harbour. The faster you are the higher your handicap is, and I reckon mine will be about 15 minutes! So before that I’m going to town to meet up with a friend, and then after that I’m off to a party! Stressful stuff!
On Saturday I think I’m helping out with dog sitting, but other than that its the most peaceful day of the weekend.
On Sunday is this big swim I mentioned, which should be fairly tiring in itself, but then we all go out afterwards! I’m hoping it will be good fun.
Monday is going to rock, I’ve got so much birthday money, so I’m going to town to go SHOPPING! :D Probably go out for dinner too. Did I mention I was staying at my friends house on Sunday night? So I doubt much sleep will be had!
On tuesday I’ll probably be recovering from my eventful sunday and monday, but then I’m going to see the kaiser chiefs on tuesday night, with tickets I won at a table quiz!
The rest of the week will be rest, but the madness starts again next friday, where I have a wedding, and then the national 10k championships the next day!
I’m quite proud I’ve managed to keep myself this busy, to distract from the fact that school starts back soon…. :( I’ll keep you updated on how things go though!
